FIRST VISIT
We offer a free consultation for your first visit. During the 30-minute consultation, Dr. Kerr will examine your jaws and teeth and go over your treatment options. If treatment is needed, you might undergo diagnostic testing after the 30-minute consultation. X-rays, a digital scan, and photos allow us to expedite treatment so you will be that much closer to achieving a straight smile. If you require diagnostic testing, your appointment will take an additional hour.
THE INITIAL EXAM
During the initial exam, Dr. Kerr determines if you have a condition that can be treated with orthodontics. Next, he must decide if now is the appropriate time for treatment. With younger patients, Dr. Kerr might wait for teeth to erupt or for the jaws to grow.
Next, it is time to determine what treatment is needed. Dr. Kerr offers early treatment, as well as procedures for teens and adults.
Then Dr. Kerr also determines the duration of the treatment. Some people only need six months of treatment, while others require up to three years.
Then, Dr. Kerr and the staff at Kerr Orthodontics will go over the cost of treatment, along with payment options. This can include insurance and payment plans.
You are also encouraged to ask questions during your consultation. Bring a list of questions with you if you like.
WHAT TO BRING TO THE INITIAL CONSULTATION
If you have orthodontic insurance, have it with you during your consultation. You should also bring your panoramic x-rays if they have been taken within the last six months.
